did you see the tumbleweeds? ;)
(*i found this just as i was about to write my latest post, - or see below - and it's from (originally) 8/31/10 at 8:51pm - i had just recently watched this movie, and it's music brought so many more memories of homemade videos by my brother and his friends along with other silly things from younger years. as it brought a smile to my face and made me laugh, i thought it'd be a good addition to this day of celebrating the things that (silly as they may be) make me smile. thank God for those little things that keep us going!)
The wandering thoughts of someone who's wondering what God has in store, & other random things.

God is good
yesterday was another hard day, which i knew it would be, but ended up being so for more reasons.
i hate that.
but i went out with 2 wonderful friends last night for some good food and an amazing (true) love story while curled up on a couch with a gigantic, delicious, red velvet cupcake and homemade cream cheese frosting (the leftovers of which i will eat today).
still, this morning, i was thinking about the discouraging stuff from yesterday (it's hard to escape the blues).
but i had my life group meeting with my lovely ladies and we talked of forgiveness, where our focus is, and how we should truly be thinking about life and its circumstances.
after they left, i planned an evening with a friend (for tonight). i already have seen things that remind me of yesterday's difficulties, and i know i will have to deal with those again next week.
but God is good. He is in control. and He has given me a weekend filled with Himself and friends and laughter to help me keep going.
God is truly good.

Girl's Night In!
Tonight my dear friend had dinner prepared for several of us friends at her house. We had a WONDERFUL time of laughter, good food, too many cookies, too much cake, joy, hugs, games, good conversation...the list goes on.
I've just noticed, I'm writing as if it's still Sunday night, but realize that it's become Monday morning (I just got home about 10/15 minutes ago)!
Good friends are good for me. They keep me grounded, lift me up, and encourage me. They love me for who I am now, and encourage me in my walk with our amazing God.
What a fabulous way to end a busy season & start a vacation!

Welcome to May!
It's the first Monday of May.
I have a very busy (exciting) month coming up - weddings of people I love, my youngest brother's graduation from college - and am pretty much booked until June. I am looking forward to it all!
And... today I am giddy.
I have found myself giggling (literally) about silly things - sometimes I'm not even sure what I'm giggling about. I don't know how long it will last. I just know that so far today, I'm feeling ok, despite the decisions and thoughts that are still undecided and rolling around in my head.
Thank you, God Almighty, for this start to the week.

Christmas Week
Things that have thrilled me this week, so far:
- had a great lunch with some good friends/coworkers
- finished reading Harry Potter 7 for the 3rd time (ever, not in the week, i'm not that nuts...)
- baking TONS of cookies. I now have 3 types of chocolate chip cookies, 3 types of sugar cookies, puppy chow (pb, powdered sugar, chocolate treat), and snickerdoodles. yum.
- it has snowed for 4 of the last 5 days when i've been at home - even having to brush my car off several times hasn't made me dislike it yet!
- i am at my parent's house as of this afternoon - here for the rest of the week until after Christmas
and i am looking forward to:
- sledding with my brother and his girlfriend
- playing Lord of the Rings Trivial Pursuit with my brother, his girlfriend, and my dad
- watching funny parts of a couple movies with my dad
- Christmas Eve with my immediate family at my other brother's church
- seeing my other brother, my sister his wife, and my niece their sweet daughter
- Christmas day!!!
- music, games, laughter, good food and conversation
- being surrounded by those i love
and that's just in one week.
God is good and i am blessed.
oh how i love love Love Christmas.
